Set up a new printer
In this article, you will set up a new printer using the PrintNode client and connect it to your Aident Print app.
Prerequisites
- a PrintNode.com subscription
- a PrintNode API key
- Permission Set 'Aident Print - Admin' needs to be assigned
Run the wizard (Recommended)
The app provides a wizard that will guide you through the setup.
Navigate to the Setup Wizard:
- Go to Assisted Setups in Business Central.
- Select Connect to Aident Printing Provider.
Provide Your PrintNode API Key:
- The wizard will prompt you to enter your personal API key. This API key can be generated in your PrintNode account interface. Please ensure you have an active PrintNode account to generate this key.
- Enter the API key in the field provided by the wizard.
API Key Validation:
- If the API key is incorrect, the wizard will display an error message: API response: Unauthorized.
- If the API key is correct, you will be directed to the Manual Setup page to complete additional configurations.
Run the setup manually
If you prefer to manually configure the settings, you can do so by following these steps:
Access the Manual Setup Page:
- Go to Manual Setup Pages in Business Central.
- Alternatively, you can search for Aident Print Setup in the Business Central client.
Configure the API Key:
- In the Aident Print Setup page, locate the field for the PrintNode API key.
- Enter your personal API key generated from your PrintNode account.
Test the Connection:
- Click on Test Connection to verify that the app can successfully communicate with the PrintNode API endpoint.
- If the connection is successful, you can proceed with the setup.
