Set up a new connection

In this article you will learn how to set up a new connection to an Aident LocalLink agent using the Aident LocalLink Connector app in Business Central.

Prerequisites

  • An active Aident LocalLink agent must exist.
  • The permission set Aident LocalLink Connector - Admin must be assigned to your user.

General setup

Follow these steps to configure the Aident LocalLink Connector app:

Run the wizard

The app provides a wizard that guides you through the setup process.

  1. Navigate to the Setup Wizard:
    • Search for Assisted Setup to open the Assisted setup list.
    • In the category Connect with other systems click on Aident LocalLink setup.
  2. Provide LocalLink agent connection data:
    • Enter a unique Account Name for the LocalLink agent.
    • Enter the URL http://localhost with your port to the Aident LocalLink agent.
    • Select the Service Type for that agent.
    • Select the Authorization Type.
    • Enter the Username specified in the Aident LocalLink agent.
    • Enter the Password specified in the Aident LocalLink agent.
  3. Provide LocalLink Print data:
    • Select the default printer you want to use with Aident LocalLink.
  4. Provide LocalLink Storage data:
    • Select Use UNC path if you want to use Windows network paths.
    • Select the Root Drive to use on your storage server. Defaults to C:/. This can be left empty when using UNC paths.
